Bob Walsh understands the culture and history of the Republic of Georgia and its people and the Georgian-Russian relationship as well as, if not better, than any other American. His first activities with Georgia started in 1986

He holds a Georgian passport as an "Honorary Citizen of Georgia" presented by President Shevardnadze

"My American friend Bob Walsh played a major role in  saving Georgia during our civil war crisis and aftermath. He was a pioneer, the first with his humanitarian activities and  then bringing investment from the West-more so than any other American.". - President Edward Shevardnadze.

Bob lived at the President's compound off and on for a decade and was responsible for bringing the first major western investment to Georgia. The value of that investment now totals over $250 million.

In 1986, five years before the end of the Cold War, Bob established the first US-Georgia humanitarian aid.

Bob returned from a two week visit to Georgia in early July, shortly before the Russian conflict and the subsequent military action between the two countries.

You can hear more about Bob's extensive knowledge of Georgia, its history and his opinion of the current conflict with Russia and its subsequent ramifications to the United States.
